REV Group Sells Lance Camper to Private Ownership

Lance Camper Manufacturing Corporation, a premier builder of high-quality travel trailers and truck campers, just announced its transition to new ownership as part of a planned sale, marking a significant milestone in the company’s 60-year legacy.

The sale concludes Lance Camper’s tenure under REV Group and returns the company to private ownership—an environment under which the brand historically thrived. Lance will continue full operations at its Lancaster, California facility with no disruption to production, service, or dealer support.

The change follows REV Group’s strategic decision to focus exclusively on its motorized RV portfolio.

During its time with REV, Lance expanded its production capacity, invested in infrastructure and automation, and strengthened internal systems and processes. These enhancements have positioned the company to respond more efficiently to market demand and continue delivering the product quality and dealer support for which Lance is known.

“We’re grateful to REV Group for the investments and support that helped us grow operationally over the past several years,” said Gary Conley, Director of Sales and Marketing, who has served at Lance Camper for over 40 years. “This transition is an exciting opportunity to reinvest in the values that built Lance— quality products, trusted partnerships, and responsive dealer support. With this new and expanded leadership team that understands both the retail and manufacturing sides of the industry, we’re entering a new era of focus and forward momentum.”

What does this change in ownership mean for Lance dealers and future Lance customers? Not much, it’s business as usual at Lance. Dealers have already been informed of the transition and were encouraged to reach out to Lance with any questions. The company’s goal is to ensure owners and customers feel confident that Lance is still Lance. This is also an opportunity for Lance to refocus on its core of longtime and prospective customers and refocus in those support areas.

The largest truck camper manufacturer in the world, Lance’s catalog consists of nine Lance Camper models—the 650, 825, 850, 855s, 865, 960, 975, 1062, and 1172—and three Lance Squire models—the SQ605, SQ805, and SQ825. Lance Campers can be purchased at numerous dealerships throughout the United States.

Bill Rex, a longtime RV industry veteran whose career began on the factory floor at Dolphin Campers before founding Rexhall Industries in 1986, will serve as President. His background includes decades of experience in engineering, operations, and executive leadership with companies such as Thor West, and BYD Coach & Bus as their President & General Manager.

“Lance has long been a brand I’ve respected and admired,” said Rex. “To now help lead its next phase of growth is a tremendous honor. My goal is to build on the strengths that made Lance a leader—smart design, strong dealer relationships, and consistent quality—while introducing renewed energy and operational focus.”

For over six decades, Lance Camper has been recognized for its craftsmanship, innovative construction techniques, and strong dealer and customer relationships. The company looks forward to a new chapter—one that honors its legacy while embracing new leadership and a renewed commitment to excellence.
