If you know Livin’ Lite campers, you know why they’re so difficult to find on the used market. This 2014 Livin’ Lite Camplite 8.6 is an exceptionally rare, high-quality, all-aluminum truck camper from an era when Livin’ Lite was building some of the most distinctive lightweight campers in the industry. Rather than relying on conventional wood framing, the Camplite was constructed around a durable aluminum framework, making surviving examples like this one especially desirable today.
Located in Little Falls, New York, this Camplite has been carefully stored inside a metal building or beneath a covered roof structure to protect it from rain and snow. It comes fully equipped with a queen bed, wet bath, full kitchen, three-way refrigerator/freezer, furnace, air conditioning, hot water, electric jacks, 2,000-watt inverter, and numerous upgrades. The asking price is $15,000 OBO.

Rare All-Aluminum Construction
What really separates this Camplite 8.6 from the typical used truck camper is its construction. Livin’ Lite built these campers with aluminum framing rather than traditional wood framing, creating a strong, high-quality structure while keeping weight reasonable for the amount of equipment and living space provided.
That construction has also helped make these campers increasingly sought-after on the used market. Livin’ Lite is no longer producing the Camplite truck camper, so finding a well-cared-for example—particularly one that has spent much of its life protected from the weather—is becoming increasingly difficult.
The current owner carried the camper on a 2020 GMC Sierra 2500HD equipped with the 6.6-liter gasoline V8 and reports that the combination performed very well. Four stainless-steel Torklift tie-downs, originally costing approximately $750, are included with the sale. Prospective buyers should verify their particular truck’s payload capacity, center of gravity, and camper compatibility before purchase.

A Rare Camper Ready for Its Next Owner
For someone specifically searching for a Livin’ Lite Camplite, opportunities like this don’t come along very often. These campers developed a loyal following for their unusual aluminum construction, relatively light weight, quality build, and ability to provide virtually all of the comforts of a larger RV in a compact truck-mounted package.
With its all-aluminum frame, full wet bath, three-way refrigerator, 2,000-watt inverter, electric jacks, upgraded MaxxAir fan, backup camera, Torklift tie-downs, and extensive storage, this 2014 Camplite 8.6 is exceptionally well equipped. Add in its history of indoor and covered storage, and you have a rare example of a camper that is becoming increasingly difficult to find.
The owner isn’t selling because there’s something wrong with the Camplite. He simply doesn’t use it enough and would rather see this rare, high-quality aluminum camper in the hands of someone who will put it back on the road and enjoy it.
Asking price: $15,000 OBO, with the best offer received by the end of 2026 considered.
The camper is located in Little Falls, New York. The seller may consider delivery within approximately two hours of Little Falls; otherwise, pickup can be arranged.
