Announcing the 2023 TCA Truck Camper Mods Contest

Hello, everyone. One of the suggestions we received at the 2022 Truck Camper Adventure Rally in Quartzsite was to hold a best truck camper mods contest. We think this is a great idea. We just started awarding a “best rig” trophy at the rally, why not do the same with the “best mod?” With our very limited time, however, trying to fit dozens of visits at future rallies to look at mods would be next to impossible. Yes, we considered appointing a panel of judges to do the work, but we still think this would be rushing things. It takes a lot of time to fairly evaluate each modification. A better approach, we feel, is to have these mods submitted to us ahead of time for publication so we can can thoroughly evaluate each.

So this is what we will do. We are formally requesting that your favorite truck camper mod be submitted to us for publication. If we publish it, your mod will be formally considered as the top mod at next year’s rally in Quartzsite. A panel of judges, chaired by me, will then narrow the entries to the top three in January which will then be evaluated in person at the rally in February for the winner.

To be considered, all mods must be received by November 30, 2022 to allow proper time for publication and evaluation. To submit your mod, send it to Truck Camper Adventure at tcadventuremag@gmail.com.

In recognition of the time and hard work put into these modifications, the owners of the top three mods will be automatically admitted to the 2023 rally at no charge. The winner of the best truck camper mod contest will receive a “best mod” trophy, a TCA T-shirt, and other prizes awarded by our sponsors.
