Ford Motor Company has just issued a safety compliance recall for approximately 52,000 2017 Ford F-250 gasoline-powered 6.2-liter vehicles for unintended vehicle movement while in park. The recall affects only the 2017 F-250 truck with the new 6-speed transmission, called TorqShift-G. This is a lighter duty transmission that is offered solely on F-250 Super Duty trucks equipped with the 6.2L gasoline powered engine. Owners are advised to use the parking brake at all times when shifting their vehicle into park to keep the vehicle stationary.
Truck Camper Adventure doesn’t normally cover vehicle recalls, but due to the potential safety impact to truck camper owners, this recall deserves attention. In the affected vehicles, a damaged park rod actuating plate might not achieve mechanical park within the automatic transmission after the driver moves the shift lever to park. If the parking brake isn’t engaged, unintended vehicle movement could occur, increasing the risk of injury or crash.
Ford is not aware of any accidents or injuries associated with this issue.
Affected trucks include certain 2017 Ford F-250 gasoline-powered 6.2-liter vehicles built at Kentucky Assembly Plant Oct. 9, 2015 to March 30, 2017.
The recall involves approximately 52,608 vehicles located in North America, including 48,421 in the United States and federalized territories, and 4,143 in Canada. The Ford reference number for this recall is 17C06.
According to Ford, dealers will inspect and replace the park rod actuating plate as necessary at no cost to the customer.
I was just recently involved in a head on collision with a tree when I lost control of my vehicle, which is a new 2016 Ford F-350, on August 24th, 2017. This accident resulted in a total of 5 surgeries in less then 11 days! I have severe trauma & other related injuries that will require more surgeries. The entire front end of my truck was pushed back about 2-3 feet & none of my airbags deployed! Neither driver side nor passenger side air bags deployed…let alone any of the side airbags! I’ve had no luck in dealing with anyone from Ford Corporate & would like to know how I can get someone to help me address this issue? I’ve called everyone I could think of, but have had no luck. I was actually told by Ford Customer Relations that I needed to read my owners manual to find out why my airbags didn’t deploy! Can you believe that’s what they told me?! True story! I was completely dumbfounded by their comment. So if you feel as if I have a case & you can help me, then please feel free to contact me at: 330-501-8811

Thank you for your time & response to this matter!
