Four Wheel Campers Film Celebrates Culture and Landscapes of Baja

Our friends at Four Wheel Campers just released a short film called Finding the Heart of Baja. Produced by the Four Wheel Camper team, the fascinating film celebrates the rich culture, wild landscapes, and human connections found on the road through Mexico’s Baja Penninsula.

From ancient cave paintings tucked in remote canyons to palm-lined oases and remote desert ranches, Finding the Heart of Baja is a vivid, soul-searching film that follows a group of Four Wheel Camper owners as they journey across one of North America’s most captivating landscapes traveling through a variety of rich ecosystems.

This original film captures more than just a road trip—it explores the intersection of culture, ecology, and human connection across the Baja California Peninsula. Traveling in six pop-up truck campers by Four Wheel Campers and united by a shared spirit of curiosity, the group set out to better understand the region’s people, landscapes, and living history.

“I try to connect people with these unique, remote places—not just for their incredible ecological value and biodiversity, but also for their deep cultural richness. You really can’t have one without the other,” said Gabe Erivez, founder of Agave Expeditions and guide of this epic journey.

Finding the Heart of Baja offers a unique lens into what it means to overland with purpose. Viewers will meet locals, learn the history of the peninsula, and experience how deeper cultural engagement can transform a journey into something far more meaningful.

Produced by Sarah Daniels and Eric Hyde and edited by Jake Lamons, the film reflects Four Wheel Campers’ ongoing mission to inspire off-grid travel that is rooted in stewardship, exploration, and a genuine connection with places we visit.
