The Off-Road Safety Academy is proud to announce its 2026 Baja Hidden Heart Adventure Tour. The tour will take place February 19-27, 2026, right after the 2026 Truck Camper Adventure Rally in Quartzsite, Arizona.
This exciting eight-night, nine-day adventure tour features a scenic southern route through Baja. You will be driving along the Sea of Cortez, the Pacific Coast, and through the middle of the Baja Peninsula. You will encounter wondrous landscapes, authentic cultural experiences and food, stunning ocean campsites, original Spanish missions, and relaxed evening campfires. On the tour, we will reach the Bay of Conception as our southern-most point. During our inland wanderings, we will visit a famous Baja cave paintings area. New radiocarbon techniques dates these paintings back 9,000 to 11,000 years, roughly the same time as the end of the first ice age. Experts say that these pictographs are the oldest on the North American Continent.
The tour cost includes a Grey Whale encounter on Scammon’s Lagoon using a certified boat operator near the wonderful town of Guerrero Negro.
Off-Road Safety Academy’s international tours teach you what you must know to:
- Efficiently cross international borders
- Safely navigate and camp in country
- Interact with the local culture
- Understand the region’s geology and biology
This adventure is an overlanding-style tour. The tour includes remote camping at different locations each night. As such, each vehicle must be completely self-reliant (food, water, fuel, vehicle in superb working order, sleeping accommodations, ability to carry out human waste, etc.). You will need a camping-style toilet. All overland 4WD vehicles are welcome, especially heavy duty 4WD trucks with campers.
The cost is only $1,800 PER VEHICLE. Bring as many passengers in your vehicle as you have legal seat belts. Fee includes ONE ticket for Whale Watching Excursion. Additional Whale Excursion Tickets for passengers are $70 each.
