About BundutecUSA Campers

BundutecUSA is a small truck camper manufacturer based in Raymond, Iowa, founded in 2013 by longtime truck camper designer Rory Willett. Willett brought decades of experience to the company after spending much of his career with his family’s Northstar Campers business, and that experience is reflected in BundutecUSA’s practical approach to camper design. The company builds both pop-up and hardwall truck campers, with models for everything from midsize pickups and half-ton trucks to 3/4-ton and one-ton trucks, including several models specifically designed for flatbeds. Rather than mass-producing a handful of rigid floorplans, BundutecUSA is also well known for working directly with customers to customize campers around their trucks and individual camping needs.

BundutecUSA takes a decidedly traditional approach to construction, building its campers with wood framing, block-foam insulation, and fiberglass exterior siding. The company’s hard-wall campers offer particularly impressive insulation for four season use, with R-5 walls, an R-10 insulated floor, and an R-15 roof. The graduated insulation package puts the greatest amount of insulation overhead, where heat loss can be particularly important during winter camping, while the insulated floor helps separate the living space from the cold truck bed below. This combination of wood framing, fiberglass exterior surfaces, and block-foam insulation has been used successfully in truck campers for decades and also gives a small manufacturer like BundutecUSA considerable flexibility when creating custom floorplans and configurations.

BundutecUSA’s pop-up campers use a different roof design, featuring an aluminum roof above the raising soft-wall section. BundutecUSA combines this design with block-foam insulation in the camper’s rigid portions and equipment geared toward four-season and off-grid camping. Depending on the model and configuration, buyers can specify Truma heating systems, lithium batteries, solar charging, cassette toilets, wet-baths, and other equipment for extended travel away from hookups.

The breadth of the lineup is another BundutecUSA strength. Pop-up offerings include the Topi, Sable, Wild, Odyssey, Cape, BunduCamp, Free, and Roan, with the Odyssey serving as a dedicated flatbed pop-up. Hardwall buyers can choose from the lightweight RipTide, BunduVry, Go-Away, Roadrunner, and Roamer, with the Roamer providing a large flatbed hard-wall offering. Add BundutecUSA’s willingness to modify layouts and equipment to meet individual customer requirements, and the Iowa builder offers something increasingly difficult to find in today’s RV industry: a highly customizable truck camper built by a small manufacturer with decades of truck camper design experience, proven wood-frame and fiberglass construction, and genuine four-season capability.
