About Adventurer Manufacturing
Adventurer Manufacturing has been building recreational vehicles for more than five decades, with roots dating back to 1969. Today, the company produces truck campers under the Adventurer and Eagle Cap brands, giving buyers a lineup that stretches from relatively lightweight, compact hard-side campers to one of the largest luxury truck campers on the market. Adventurer campers emphasize practical floorplans, competitive weights, and a range of truck compatibility, while Eagle Cap occupies the premium end of the company’s portfolio with a greater emphasis on residential comfort, space, and luxury.
Construction is an important part of the Adventurer formula. The company’s campers make extensive use of aluminum framing, laminated fiberglass exterior walls, composite materials, and block-foam insulation, though construction details and insulation levels vary by model. Adventurer’s TCC—or True Composite Construction—uses laminated assemblies engineered to provide strength, insulation, and durability without relying on traditional heavy wall construction. The result is a lineup that can accommodate everything from appropriately equipped half-ton pickups to heavy-duty one-ton trucks to fit any payload rating. Buyers should note, however, that construction and insulation specifications aren’t necessarily identical across every Adventurer model.
The Eagle Cap 1165 takes the company’s construction and four-season approach to another level. This flagship triple-slide camper uses 2-inch TCC laminated aluminum-framed walls with R-13 insulation and an R-22 insulated floor, along with construction intended for demanding four-season use. At nearly 5,000 pounds dry and with three slide-outs, the 1165 is in an entirely different size and weight class than Adventurer’s smaller campers and requires an appropriately equipped one-ton dual-rear-wheel, long-bed truck. Eagle Cap should therefore be viewed as Adventurer Manufacturing’s premium heavy-duty offering rather than simply another Adventurer floorplan.
The current lineup provides a logical progression through several truck and camper classes. The compact Adventurer 65RB and 80RB anchor the lighter end, followed by the larger 86FB, 89RB, and 901SB non-slide models. Buyers wanting additional interior room can move up to the 89RBS, which adds a slide-out, while the Eagle Cap 1165 sits at the top with three slides, a dry-bath, enormous holding tanks, and substantially more living space. Taken together, the Adventurer and Eagle Cap brands give buyers choices ranging from relatively simple lightweight hard-side campers to a full-blown luxury truck camper designed specifically for the capabilities of a heavy-duty DRW pickup.
