Zamp Releases New MPPT Solar Charge Controller for RVs

Zamp Solar, the leading manufacturer of solar power products for RVs, recently released a 12/24 volt brand-new Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) charge controller. Compared to traditional PWM controllers, MPPT controllers more efficiently harvest and transfer energy from your solar panels to the batteries in the least time possible, while ensuring increased battery health and extended life. The 30 amp controller can regulate over 440 watts and is compatible with Lithium, Gel, AGM, Conventional lead-acid (wet) batteries, and LTO battery types.

The Maximum Power Point Tracking system monitors your solar panels’ voltage and amperage output to harvest all energy generated. As the energy is stored in your battery, it is optimized. The most noticeable benefit is the amount of energy that can be run through the system during shorter and cloudier winter days. With up to 30 percent greater efficiency over PWM charging, the MPPT controller is the perfect upgrade to your truck camper rig’s solar system.

Zamp’s MPPT charge controller offers a number of protections. It protects your battery from overcharging, expands your battery’s lifespan, and keeps your panel safe from back-flow electrical currents, among many other protections and benefits. Its large digital display lets you monitor battery voltage, charging current, charging capacity (amps per hour), battery types, full charge, and system faults. Colored LEDs indicate operational status and battery conditions.

Zamp’s new MPPT controller is much larger than its PMW controller. It measures 6.5 inches tall, 5.5 inches wide, and 3 inches thick, and weighs 1.75 pounds. Zamp Solar’s new 30-amp MPPT charge controller is weather resistant and can be surface-mounted on your wall or inside a storage compartment. In addition, it is compatible with Zamp’s battery temperature cable and a remote LCD display that lets you keep tabs on your power from wherever it’s most convenient.
