Total Composites Launches Lightweight Truck Camper Shell for DIYers

Total Composites LTD., an exclusive importer of premium-fiberglass composite expedition truck body kits, has launched a slide-in truck camper shell made especially for do-it-yourself (DIY) builders. The truck camper shell is developed specifically for road and off-road adventures with 5-foot, 6.5-foot, and 8-foot kits that fit the Jeep Gladiator, Toyota Tacoma, Ford-150/250, and Ram 1500/3500.

This innovation to truck camper construction is revolutionary as it provides a low-cost starting point for DIY camper builders. The composite shell is attractive, rugged, and well-insulated for four season use. With 2-inch thick walls and R12 insulation there is no condensation on the inside of the camper regardless of the temperature outside. In addition, weights of the campers start as low as 700 pounds and therefore will not exceed the payload rating on most trucks.

Andreas Schwall, Founder and CEO of Canadian-based Total Composites said: “We set out with the mission to create an unmatched quality camper for our fellow truck travelers as there was nothing commercially available that avoids condensation and offers true four-season capabilities without compromises. We wanted to create the perfect blank canvas for pickup trucks- something that was lightweight, no wood involved, affordable, with zero thermal transfer. With this offering sold assembled as an empty shell, it comes ready to be mounted on the truck and ready to be outfitted immediately. The outfitting can be simple, luxurious, or even a truck workshop with all your tools. The creative possibilities are boundless. The end result is a fantastic product with warranty and great customer support that knows the product inside out”

Total Composites partners, EarthCruiser in Bend, Oregon; Bear Adventure Vehicles in Santa Paula, California; and Overland Adventure in Olympia, Washington will stock and assemble the camper shell as ordered. This product is only available for pickup and cannot be shipped.

Accessories like storage doors, roof hatches, windows, water boilers can be directly ordered and installed through Total Composites partners including Bear Adventure Vehicles and Overland Adventure Truck, American partners of Total Composites.
