Supertramp to Reveal New Flagship Hard Top at Overland Expo SoCal

Supertramp is now giving customers more options to “take the long way home” with a new hard-side slide-in truck camper called the Flagship HT (Hard Top). The new model from Supertramp Campers blends the airy openness of its LT (Lift Top) model with the security, insulation, and simplicity of a hard-side camper. The company will reveal the Flagship HT at the Overland Expo SoCal in Costa Mesa, California, March 15-16.

Resembling Supertramp Camper’s Megatron—a mini-Megatron if you will—the Flagship HT offers even more than the classic Flagship LT model with interior cabinets and a MOLLE gear wall, increasing available storage to 38 cubic feet. According to the press release, the hard-top’s cabinets are manufactured in-house and complement the modern aesthetic of the camper’s interior.

Progressing from a pop-up to a hard-side was the obvious choice for the Golden, Colorado-based premium truck camper manufacturer. As a matter of fact, the Flagship HT was a natural fit for the company’s manufacturing process that uses composite molds instead of traditional wood and aluminum frames with hung walls.

“The Flagship mold was designed from the beginning to serve for multiple styles of slide-in camper solutions,” explained Keith Panich, owner and lead engineer at Supertramp. “The base is the same, but it feels like a completely different product on the inside.”

We couldn’t agree more.

The Flagship HT uses the same one-piece composite construction as other Supertramp models. Vacuum-infused, and featuring 100 percent composite construction, the HT offers exceptional insulating capabilities thanks to its 2-inch composite walls that extend all the way to the roof. Perfect for winter! Six massive Dark Edition Arctic Tern dual-pane acrylic windows surround the camper’s upper walls, staying consistent with the open feel that sets Supertramp apart from the competition. Better yet, there is an additional window in the door.

“The 360-degree views is our thing,” Panich said. “A lot of hard-side campers feel cramped and cluttered on the inside, and we wanted to keep things open and airy.”

Like the Supertramp Flagship LT, the interior of the HT features a spacious L-shaped couch with storage under each seat, with the kitchen cabinet located on the passenger side. Without the need for interior roof lift actuators, the company is offering a folding bed extension for its standard 4-inch thick mattress to give customers a king-size bed with north-south sleeping. The standing height inside the HT model is a full 6 feet 6 inches. The camper also has under-bed storage—one of the few hard-side, slide-in campers to offer this bonus feature.

Standards of the new hard-side slide-in camper include a 24 gallon fresh water holding tank, 5 gallons of grey water, a portable cassette toilet, an Isotherm 65L DC compressor refrigerator, two MAXXAIR 12 volt deluxe fans, a Truma Combi water heater-furnace, 330 watts of solar, a 30 amp DC-DC charger, two 11 pound propane tanks, and a 100 amp hour lithium battery. The camper, like all Supertramp campers, features the company’s proprietary tie-down system for extra strength and security.

Looking for an off-road, off-grid beast? Options include up to 800 amp hours of lithium to power your off-grid adventures, a 50 amp DC-DC charger, a 1,500 or a 2,000 watt inverter, a DC air conditioner, an inside shower, an electric Wrappon toilet, a teak riser for a Trelino composting toilet, and a bunk bed. The company is also offering new options for the Flagship HT such as an onboard water filter, dimmable LED lights, the ability to paint match your camper to your vehicle, ski racks, a new hitch step, and a host of other goodies that would make any truck camper owner drool.

The company even offers an option to remove propane from the camper completely with a diesel Truma Combi water heater-furnace and an electric induction stovetop.

The Supertramp Flagship HT fits on any full-size short-bed or long-bed pickup truck including the ever popular Ford F-150 with the requisite payload. The camper weighs approximately 1,400 pounds dry, only 50 pounds more than the LT model. Options, of course, can increase this weight to 1,750 pounds, so caution is needed when matching the camper to your truck.

The Supertramp Flagship HT incorporates all of the things that made the Flagship LT special including the company’s sound deadening capabilities. A “High Gloss White” single-stage automotive paint coats the exterior of the Flagship HT, and durable Rhino Liner covers the base and down-facing wings to protect from rock chips. Supertramp offers three additional custom colors to choose from—Battleship Grey, Forest Green, Desert Tan—and offers vehicle-specific paint matching or 3M vinyl wraps as optional upgrades to trick out your rig even more.

Interior colors are consistent with Supertramp’s premium Flagship line, and customers can choose between eight different cushion colors and two different interior color themes. Glacial Valley offers cool blue tones, while Desert Mesa brings warmth to the camper with oranges and browns.

The company expects its new HT models to begin shipping mid-summer. Supertramp is taking HT orders now. Pricing for the new Flagship HT starts at $65,975 with a wide variety of optional upgrades, including air conditioning, Starlink, inside showers, and much more.
