SherpTek Unveils Modular Truck Bed for Slide-in Truck Campers

Oregon-based SherpTek just unveiled their new modular flat-bed at several outdoor events, including the 2017 Overland Expo West in May, the 2017 Northwest Overland Expo, and the inaugural British Columbia Overland Rally this past weekend. The company’s new flat-bed is fully customizable and greatly expands the storage capacity and functionality of slide-in truck campers. The base weight of the aluminum flat-bed is only 250 pounds and is completely made in the USA.

“We’ve been really excited to show this product to the public,” explains Ryan Goodwin, founder and CEO of SherpTek. “It’s really obvious by the response we’ve received that it’s filling an important need in the truck camper community and industry.”

SherpTek’s modular truck bed took years to develop. It adds over 60 cubic feet of easily accessible, secure storage, fits on any size truck, and features a proprietary hidden tie-down system for slide-in truck campers. Moreover, the hinged doors and honeycombed compartments are completely removable, enabling it to be easily reconfigured into a regular flat-bed in less than 10 minutes. The SherpTek flat-bed also features infinite attachment points, compartment lighting, and an integrated fueling port that makes filling-up fast, easy, safe, and spill-free.

The flat-bed is fully customizable at the factory. Custom slide-out accessories like grills, stoves, workstands, and coolers can easily be added. In addition, items like air compressors, battery compartments, generator compartments, firewood bins, extra water tanks and/or fuel tanks can be added to not only increase functionality, but also extend a camper’s time off-grid.

“A great thing about our design is that it takes the amenities from inside your camper and allows you to live outside, which is really the whole point of camping,” says Goodwin, who has been full-timing in a truck camper since 2009. “Instead of going inside to cook and grab stuff you can stay outside and enjoy the great outdoors. It’s like turning the camper inside out,” he explained.

Sherpek has been working directly with major slide-in truck camper manufacturers like Lance, Four Wheel Campers, Alaskan Campers, and others to ensure a seamless integration between the truck, bed, and camper. SherpTek flat-beds will be sold and installed by trusted, certified dealerships nationwide.

SherpTek flat beds are now available for purchase. Orders are now being taken for September delivery.
