Nimbl Launches Partnership with American Expedition Vehicles

California-based Nimbl Vehicles, maker of the superb Nimbl Evolution pop-up truck camper, just announced a formal partnership with American Expedition Vehicles (AEV). According to the announcement, the partnership will pair the Nimbl Evolution and the equally superb AEV Ram Prospector XL cab chassis in what the companies believe will be the “quintessential marriage of experience and innovation.”

“We are really excited about this partnership,” said Judd Newman, Nimbl Vehicles CEO. “For us, it’s a marriage made in heaven with the experience and expertise that AEV brings to their product portfolio. With the Ram and hopefully other things down the road, we see this as the perfect fit. Our customers have been asking us for bigger platforms and have been asking us how they can obtain expedition-grade trucks fully configured. So in some ways, it simplifies and makes for a better partnership. It takes a lot of the mystery out of a build.”

Since 1997, AEV has become the world’s premier supplier of OE-quality, performance-driven aftermarket parts and accessories for vehicles geared specifically towards off-road recreational driving and overland adventure travel. All AEV components used in the conversion are designed and engineered to work seamlessly with each other, making it an incredibly functional and reliable chassis that works well both on and off-road. There are no airlines to contend with, no hydraulic fittings to leak, and no gimmicks or high-maintenance equipment with which to contend—just AEV’s proven formula that is reliable as well as capable.

According to Newman, customers have the option of ordering either a Ram 3500, a 4500, or a 5500 cab chassis to pair-up with the Nimbl Evolution truck camper and Nimbl’s custom truck bed.

AEV’s Prospector XL not only will provide the Nimbl Evolution with a highly capable, off-road platform, but it will also provide the 2,500-pound pop-up with a distinctly aggressive look that would make any truck camper owner drool. The Prospector XL package includes a Premium Front Bumper, AEV’s 3-inch DualSport Suspension, AEV Wheels, 40-inch Tires, a Black HD Grill, Black Rear Bumper, AEV Logo Headrests, AEV Build Plaque, and AEV’s 3-year/36,000 Mile Warranty.

Unlike the standard Prospector package, the Prospector XL utilizes HighMark fender flares which open up the wheel wells by approximately 3 inches, providing the additional clearance needed to fit a 40-inch tire. The fender flares give the truck a very aggressive stance while also keeping the center of gravity low.

The first step in the process is to get in touch with both AEV and Nimbl. AEV will handle all truck-related matters and will answer any questions a customer may have in order to get the base truck. After the base truck is ordered through a commercial Ram dealership and built at the Ram production plant, it will be drop-shipped to AEV for the Prospector XL conversion. Once the conversion is complete, it will then be shipped to the Nimbl facility for complete assembly of the Nimbl Evolution AEV Prospector XL.

“The advantage of going this route is an integrated configuration and purchasing process. By the time we get it, we’re ready to go. There’s not a lot of mystery or guess work in what we have to do with the vehicle once we get it,” Newman said.

To celebrate the new partnership, Nimbl is offering special incentives on all Nimbl Evolutions that are built on the AEV Prospector XL purchased in 2023.
