Has anyone installed and tested SumoSprings after reading Mike’s article? I have been waiting for an update as I am interested in putting a set on my rig pictured here.

I had a set on my 2012 F350 SRW LB Gasser with our Northstar on the bed, before Mile ever mentioned them. Selected based on weight according to their website. Way too stiff. Pad never got closer than 1 1/2″ to upper overloads. Called and their solution was for me to buy another set with a softer rating. Sorry, but “NO”.

Took em off and put original bumpstops back on and then made myself a pair of Do-it-yourself upper stableloads for about $10.00 and an hours worth of time. Now upper overloads engage, ride is just as controlled, but softer. Hope Mike had better luck. I could not recommend them!

If this is something you just gotta do, PM me. Mine are like new and sitting in the shed. Takes about 15 minutes to install and luckily come off just as easily.

Ardvark, do you still have the Sumos? I’m not sure how to message you on this site.

I have a set of Timbrens on my 2011 F350. They came with a life time guarantee and I have had them on my truck for 6 years. You have to set them up so the overloads are just touching when the camper is on. This gives you three points of contact on either side. It was a major improvement and reduced the sideways rolling on the highway and off-road I don’t have to stop the truck after every big dip to let the sway stop. The Timbrens came with a shim but I did not need it. If the overloads are not touching, there is no point in using them.
