ParticipantI have a set of Torklift upper stableloads I intend to install in our F350. As they come from the box there will be no clearance on the rear of the spring and Torklift notes cutting off up to 5/8″ is necessary in some cases. I know I want them touching the overload when engaged, but how much clearance do you all have if you have them on a SuperDuty from 2011-2016 when running empty?

ParticipantOops – mine’s a ’17 F-350. I have roughly 1/2″ clearance on the rear block and 2″ on the front block. Single-leaf overloads.

ParticipantThanks for the response. I also posted this question on a Ford truck owners’ site. Seems no two trucks are the same. Kind of seems like when running empty you either tolerate the slapping from the spring and the rough ride from the Stableload or take them off when the camper is off the truck. Obviously one size doesn’t fit all even though they come in just one size.

ParticipantIn follow-up, I contacted Torklift regarding the lack of clearance between my pad perch and overloads and they are refunding my full purchase price under their satisfaction guarantee for Stable Loads. Totally hassle free!!
