This may be a bit off topic, and then again not.

Does anyone have experience with or know of a tonneau cover that would be simple to completely remove so the TC can be loaded on to bed?

      Thanks

I bought a Truxedo Truxport for my 2017 Silverado. Nice because it rolls up tight to the back window when I need to use the full length bed. Installed very easy and came off really fast when I put the camper in. The rails are held on with 3 clamps per side. No drilling. I even think I could roll it up and leave it on with the camper in the bed!. The rails would be tight but it looked like it might be doable.

      Good quality unit.

I have an Access roll-up and it is simple to put on and take off as it also uses just three clamps on each side, but clearance for our Hallmark at the tailgate would be very tough and I doubt it is even possible.

I might be wrong here, but all the covers I have had were pretty easy to put on and take off so there may be a good many choices here (but I still find it a pain to put the cover off and on as I do not leave our TC on the truck unless we are using it.

Thanks for replies. I get the feeling that some covers can be easy, yet ardvark says its a pain anyway, so maybe I’ll drop this idea.

Got htis one for my sierra 2500 and love it. Very solid, installed in minutes. Took it down to baja mecixo with tough roads and had no problems. Was on sale below 700.

Martin How long have you had the cover? It looks good just concerned the wing nut for front clamps would regularly rattle loose.
        Thanks

Can you load truck camper with it in place?

Seems like a good possibility. Any idea if it can be mounted when there is spray in bed liner?
        Thanks

Harvey, i just bought it in october and had it for 2500 miles down the baja to laredo. Bad roads and lots of potholes. Seems to be very durable, but you are right, we had to tighten the clams, but only once during this trip. I lime it, because it is installed and reinstalled in only 10 minutes and you get a list of all parts with numbers, so you can orderd every part just in case, something really breaks. The one i bought has no LED lights inside, but i got them at homedepot myself.

      Thanks Martin,

I think I will go for the cover. Like everything some negatives but seems to generally be a good one.

TC – no more replies needed on this topic, for me anyway.
