ParticipantAfter 9 months home we finally got on the road for a brief “maiden” voyage back to the world!
Were in SE AZ for the most. Had every kind of weather, almost – no monsoon or tornado!Anyway, our Thetford toilet caught a virus or something. When flushing the water is not staying in the spiral track inside the toilet but also going over the sides. Even with very brief pulsating flushes.
The only thing I can think of at this moment is some sort of tip fell off the flush line that comes into the toilet to there’s too much force. Attached photos shows what ours looks like. Maybe someone sees something missing or wrong?
I had fixed the non functioning toilet in the fall. When taking off for our trip this time I saw the hose was not in place and put it back through the hole. So the other possibility is the hose is upside down, but it doesn’t seem possible to turn it really.
I’ve written Thetford several times this week. No reply. Just called – “Sorry our service line is closed for lunch”! What, does only one person work at this company? Incredible.
Any suggestions?

ParticipantHarvey,
I just went out and looked at mine. It looks to me like your nozzle is not pulled out far enough and is pointed up a little. Mine is pulled out far enough so there is a short flat area on the nozzle behind the taper which shows on your picture. It think this is just an adjustment issue with the nozzle where the water comes out. I do not think it is a malfunction or an issue of too much pressure. At least that is my take on the situation.

ParticipantOK Ardvark thanks, I’ll give it a look and try – as soon as the toilet is working again! Now no flush at all. I’ve had this before so I’ll have to check the pump. Fuses are OK.I think you are correct about adjustment.

ParticipantYep, the nozzle needed to be pulled out. I changed the control panel too and the toilet flushed fine. Not sure why it was dead. Finally I am wondering, is the well where you get into the pump when removing the control panel to supposed to be filled with water. I don’t recall that being so last time I was in there.
