Participantthe Moki Dugway has a 10,000 pound GVWR limit). My truck is 11400 does that mean i should take the road? How critical is the weight limit?
Is the another route from Valley of the Gods to Capital Reef? - March 17, 2019 at 08:16 #29802

KeymasterI have driven this four times in a truck camper. It’s no problem at all for a truck camper. I’ve even posted an article plus a video on this famous stretch of road.

ParticipantI’m interested in what other more experienced TCrs have to say. We’re new to the game. Just a couple of trips so far. One was to AK, so maybe that counts as more than one. 🙂
One thing we learned after our Valley of the Gods, Moki Dugway, Muley Point trip is we needed something to keep the cabinets doors shut on rough roads. I’m planning on installing marine push button latches that hold the doors shut till you push on the button(which pops up to become the cabinet pull).
We went up and down the Dugway a couple of times at well over 10K. The exhaust brake on the newer diesels is the bomb.
