ParticipantIf you installed a Big Wig yourself on an F350 long bed SRW models 2011-2016, how did you get to the hourglass bolt on the driver’s side between the fuel tank and the frame rail. It is barely possible to touch it let alone get a socket and rachet on to loosen it. Step seven of the instructions to remove the bracket on the frame rail offers no help as it is at least 12″ ahead of bolt and offers no additional access. It looks to me like that step would help on a short bed, but not a long bed.

ParticipantTalked to Hellwig. Instructions are not for long bed. I intend to write this up and will post after I figure out how to do it. Editorially I would note this is a PITA!

ParticipantJay,
Trust me brother when I say this, you are the smart one. I think anyone who attempts this install on a long bed 2011-2016 SRW F350 must be a glutton for punishment. I made three calls to Hellwig while dealing with this and I guarantee you they have not idea how to actually install this sway bar. What they suggest is pure fantasy, period! Now having finished the install I fully understand why folks are going with Roadmaster sway bars on this model truck instead of Hellwig. Install with Roadmaster would be a fraction of the time Hellwig takes. You can watch all the YouTube you want on this bar, but there is not a single one I could find showing how to get the hourglass bar off on the driver’s side. They all show short beds. If Mike wants I will write this up and I did take pictures, but you will need way more tools than the tool list in the instructions, and when you see what I finally decided to do, you will shake your head.
The single exception I would note here is if you are willing to drop your fuel tank this would be a no-brainer, but who the heck wants to do that?

InactiveThis is a good info post. I’m in the research mode for a larger rear sway bar over the stock application for my 2012 Ford F-350 long bed. Since the RoadMaster manufacturing facility is about 75 miles away I’ll visit them to determine the correct fit for my F350.

InactiveInstalled the Roadmaster Sway Bar and it felt like it took me longer to gather the tools, set up the Jack and raise the truck than it did to complete the actual install.
