Next time when you travel, try a French Press. Don’t worry fellow TC’ers, the F&P is not a new way to increase your chest size, however it is a great way to make the best cup of joe you will ever have. Simple, easy, quite and there is no need to use power during those early mornings. So try swapping out your power hungry dirty coffee pot for a small tea kettle and a French Press. Once you get used to a really fresh cup of joe you will no longer need to carry that bulky coffee pot that requires a full hook up or an inverter or your generator.

We have carried a French press for several years. It works well, but we also carry a small four cup electric we used when we have power available. Both work well.

Oh, and we also carry exercise bands for exercise as we can even use them in the camper. They take up little space and are inexpensive. 🙂

Wife drinks herbal teas so we need the kettle for the stove and I make a large thermos of coffee with one of these pour over cones. Takes less room when traveling and tastes better than an electric drip.

Yep, we have been using a French press for years. First one was a nice double wall glass unit, but being glass, it broke. Then we had a plastic REI unit and it was ok, but was kind of tough to press down sometimes. Now we have a stainless steel one that we got from Target. It’s the best one so far. We have found that getting the water really boiling makes better coffee.

We also have a grinder (run off the inverter) so we grind beans fresh every morning. Yum.

And here I’ve been thinking my Folger’s instant is a real step up from C-ration powdered coffee.

I think I will likely get a stainless steel press for a backup. I always hate the cleanup especially the one time I rinse the few grounds and toss the water off to the side of the camper and got the hairy eyeball from my neighbor in a high-end class a. LOL
