ParticipantFor my 2016 FR Popup truck camper (SS1500) I have the external EZ charge connections but when I put the tester on them got nothing. What/how do I get this going? Want to install (at some point) rooftop solar and get 2 6 volt golf cart batteries for this unit. Thaks, Carrie

KeymasterIf you’re getting no voltage on the EZ Charge connections I would trace the wiring back and see if there’s a blown fuse or cut-off switch turned off.

ParticipantMine came not connected from the factory, 2018 SS1500. Chase the wiring, it will be obvious.

ParticipantWelcome to the board Carrie. Sounds like your question has been addressed by Mike and Chris so I will move onto your battery reference. Provide the board with what your needs are regarding those 6 volts and I will explain what I have discovered. There is a lot to know about battery’s if your interested.

Thanks everyone for the replies. Not sure what those wires look like but everything appears to be connected, big red wires seem to come from the back of that box all the way over to the battery area. I do have 2 black/white wires that are not connected dropping down from the roof over the sink top cabinet area. these are not the EZ charge connectors.
I feel like i will have to take this to someone that knows this stuff to get the thing fixed. Contemplating rooftop flex panel solar mount vs suitcase set up is why i am looking at all of this.Carrie

ParticipantSo battery question answered by purchasing a trojan 12 v deep cycle battery. finally got to view the 6 volt batteries and discovered that one 6 volt battery is the same size as a 12 V battery and wont fit in the area available for batteries. Thanks to all that replied. Still no resolution yet on the ez charge thingy but working on that.

ParticipantWhen I google EZ Charge all I get are systems to charge electric vehicles. I do not know what an EZ Charge is in your application. I have seen charging systems that do not show any output until you put a load on them. I presume a voltmeter when connected shows nothing. Measure a battery with a voltmeter and then connect it to the EZ Charge. Now measure the battery voltage again and if it reads higher, that would indicate that the charge system is working correctly. If I am way off base here due to my naivety please forgive me.

and the thing is mine does not show any power but I cant figure out where those wires are going into the big white box inside my camper. Waayy over my head but thats doesnt take much. Such a pain.

and it appears mine did not come connected from the dealer so now I have to figure out how to do that or get it done. Too many wires makes my head spin. Way out of my comfort zone on that! LOL
