ParticipantHas anybody used a bigwig sway bar off-road much. I take my rig to places I probably shouldn’t. A little less roll would make me feel better. Mike, did you have your Big wig sway bar on your White Rim trip?

KeymasterHi Steve,
Yes, I took my Big Wig on the White Rim Trail. Typically, one side of your sway bar should be disconnected when you drive off-road. This allows your axle to freely articulate. - May 4, 2017 at 09:26 #15440

Did you disconnect the sway bar on the White Rim Trail or did your rig handle the technical sections reasonable well with it connected?2018 Ram 3500 Cummins diesel long bed 4x4

KeymasterI didn’t. I kept it connected at the lowest possible setting. Still, to compensate, for its sway control ability, I took the more technical parts of the road slower.

ParticipantThis post is about the installation of the big wig. I have read in several places about how it was heavy and difficult to put it up by one person. Here is a simple way. Using a piece of wire attached to the top of the U bolt on the axle, wire it up to the tailpipe or bed cross member so it stays horizontal, then you can put the bar up with the clamps and start the nuts by yourself.
