I just ordered the 3800 model Novacool. I will report performance once I get it in about 6 weeks or so.
The 3800 has an operating current of 2.2 amps, so I’m hoping my 200 watts of panel and 230 amps of battery will keep up. I plan to add insulation (I have more than an inch gap between the fridge and the opening in my Palomino SS-1251) to improve the duty cycle.
My 3 way fridge has never been able to stay cool when the outside temperature gets above 85F or so. I added another fan, but that didn’t seem to have any effect. With the compressor fridge, I won’t have to turn it on 24 hours before the trip and I don’t have to worry about being level.
Now if I could only find a way to get the Trumba Combi here in the US………
