Yeah, you’re right. I just keep hoping to grab the brass ring! 🙂 In my opinion, when NorthStar says the same model works on a short and long bed, what they really mean is it is designed to fit a short bed, but can be adapted to a long bed. In this case the tie down placement is perfect for a short bed. 🙂
