In regards to insurance coverage, your insurance policy is a binding contract between you and your carrier. It will state under what conditions you are not covered. Read your policy. If it is not there in black and white, you are covered. While doing something stupid may get your a cancellation notice when it comes time to renew, while the policy is in effect, you are covered. When in doubt check with your agent would be my suggestion.
