I use rubber mat and front stop blocks etc to not allow the camper to gain any movement or momentum whatsoever in relation to the truck deck… I’m doing a box delete this spring and will fit some side stops to the flatbed as well. My unscientific theory is use the tie downs to keep the camper from becoming airborne and stops and friction mat at the base to stop it from moving under braking, side catapault forces on fuel station approaches, off road rock and roll… rather than hauling down on it with uber tightened tie downs while it rides on a slippery surface…
