The dream: Return to Alaska! Our first trip was 10 years ago in our homemade solid oak 4×8 teardrop trailer pulled by our old Chevy Colorado. This time? It would be another four-month adventure beginning (again!) on Alaska’s Marine Highway—camping up the inside passage, on and off the ferry for weeks—but it would be done with a carefully researched and meticulously chosen truck camper and truck. (And thus began my avid following of Truck Camper Adventure!)
The winning combo: a new 2022 nuCamp Cirrus 820 paired with a new 2022 Chevy Silverado 3500HD 4×4 crew WT. The hard-side Cirrus 820 checked every box for functionality and workmanship, while its modern, forward-thinking aesthetics easily pushed it over the top. The powerful, hard-working Chevy Silverado 3500HD was a perfect fit, not to mention making this pairing a beautiful thing and a virtual show-stopper. But nothing happened fast or easy. The truck had to be ordered and made, and took nine months! The camper was states away, and I wanted to tour the factory, but good things come to those who wait, right?
Well… in this case, that could be YOU!
The dream can be YOURS!
Mine was interrupted. Life had other plans….
