Truck Camper Adventure is selling our 2016 Northstar Laredo SC truck camper. We bought the camper in September 2015 and have used it as the feature truck camper rig since then. This is a short-bed Laredo SC model and fits on short-bed trucks only. With a dry weight of 2,090 pounds, a floor length of 8.5 feet, and a width of 7 feet, the camper is a perfect match for some 3/4-ton and all one-ton pickup trucks. With its low weight and low profile, the camper handles great off-road and is built like a tank. Construction features Northstar’s signature wood frame overlayed with an attractive, non-yellowing lamilux 1000 fiberglass. Many trips featured on this website were visited using this superb, well-built camper.
This Laredo is in excellent condition with only minor wear and tear after five years of use. The camper includes several modifications, many of which have been featured on this website, including:
- Rooftop 330 watt Solar Power System with a Zamp 30 amp PWM Charge Controller (LiFePO4 Capable)
- Weboost Drive-X RV Cell Booster
- StableCamper Stabilization System (off camper use)
- Froli Star Modular Sleep System
- Go Power 1500 watt Inverter with built-in transfer relay
- Progressive Dynamics 45 amp Converter-Charger Upgrade
- Cyrix Li-Ci DC-DC Battery Charger
- New Shurflo 12 volt Water Pump
Important: The camper is ready and can be used for camping right away with one exception: the camper has no batteries. You will need to provide your own. Only AGM or lithium batteries can be used. The camper’s battery charging system has been upgraded for lithium ion (LiFePO4) battery use, but can easily be returned to its OEM lead acid AGM battery configuration. Let me know what kind of batteries you’ll be using beforehand, so I can make the needed changes to the camper.
We are selling this Northstar Laredo SC for $22,000 cash. We purchased a larger camper which is why we are selling this one. This camper is located in Kingman, Arizona. With low truck camper inventories nationwide and long lead times to build a new one, this camper will go fast, so don’t wait. We will require a $500 non-refundable deposit to hold the camper. Contact us at [email protected] to schedule a tour. Serious inquiries only. Sale does not include the truck.
Please note that I’m a certified RVIA RV Technician and can help you get everything loaded and setup. The camper has been thoroughly tested and cleaned according to official RVIA PDI standards. You will need a Torklift or HappiJac tie-down system and four turnbuckles to safely haul this truck camper on your short-bed truck. This is a requirement. For safety reasons, we will not allow the camper to be hauled using a “homemade” tie-down system.

This is a good one, and Jeanie and I are still delighted with our 2020 Laredo SC. With a short bed H.D. truck and your tie downs it is usable immediately.
All Mike’s upgrades should have been factory items to begin with.
Tomorrow (Sept. 5th) we leave for a few weeks exploring Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, Black Hills, Badlands, Devil’s Tower, and environs in our Northstar Laredo SC.
